Parker Knoll Children’s Egg chair

Fit for a Prince or a Princess.

Mason & Brotherhood statement chair, reupholstery, children's egg chair,

Making a decision of what look we wanted for this special chair was not straight forward as we want to use it as a marketing tool at Christmas Fairs and trade fairs so it had to be a little show winner.

The chair was bought from Harrods in the 1970’s and had been loved by one careful lady owner. We decided not to make it childlike as the original was created as miniature adult chair and trying to reupholster with a child in mind would mean choosing a plain non-gender fabric or going down the girl or boy style fabric.

I chose a digitally printed velvet called Ayre Multi by Art of the Loom for it’s rich texture and colour. The contrasting fabric is Omega Mauve from Linwood.

Paul stripped the chair and made two mock up covers to see how the fabrics and the stable frame worked together. The solid curved frame is a really challenging shape to work with as it isn’t forgiving at all.

After only 2 days collaboration we are really happy to showcase our Parker Knoll Egg Chair fit for a Prince or Princess.
